December Medal (Tuesday 14th October 2008):- sss 75, css 78 (reduction only) - 13 ladies took part in this competition and our congratulations go to the following:-

Silver:- Helen Abel 82 (100-18), Sarah Tryon 83 (91-8), Penny Cawley 83 (95-12).

Bronze:- Elma Hannah 73 (102-29), Nora Campbell 81 (110-29), Fiona Collins 85 (114-29).

Sarah had the best gross score with her 91.

Ladies v Seniors (Thursday 25th September 2008):- The Annual challenge between the Seniors & Ladies Section proved to be a very tight affair. After some very exciting matches the game finished in a tie, 51/2 - 5 1/2. As is tradition this means that as the Ladies were the victors last year they retain the trophy for a further year.

Autumn Meeting (Tuesday 26th August 2008),sss 75, css 76:- 18 ladies took part in this competition and our congratulations go to the following:-

Silver:- Sarah Tryon with a fine 73 (83-10), Sheila Gardiner 74 (93-19), Penny Cawley 78 (90-12).

Bronze:- Elma Hannah with 78 (107-29), Alison Ram 78 (106-28), Carol Annesley 83 (112-29).

Sarah had the lowest gross score.

August Medal (Tuesday 12th August 2008), sss 75, css 78:- 21 ladies took part in this competition which was played in "difficult" weather conditions. Well done to the following:-

Silver:- Dorothy Davidson with a 79 (99-20), Louise Ballantyne 81 (92-11), Penny Cawley 81 (93-12).

Bronze:- Dorothy Reid with 77 (105-28), Roberta Lees 81 (105-24), Elma Hannah 81 (110-29).

Louise had the lowest gross score.

Ladies Open (Friday 8th August 2008),sss 75, css 76:- The ladies were met with fine if not sunny weather for this competition which attracted a good entry. As has come to be expected our course was presented in it's usual immaculate condition and this was commented upon by many entrants from other clubs. Our congratulations go to the following major prizewinners:-

Scratch Winner - Suzanne Cadden with a fine 74.

Silver Winner:- Barbara Robertson.

Bronze Winner:- Sheila Mumford.

Golf Foundation Brooch & Vets Cup (20th & 22nd July 2008), sss 75, CSS 75:- 34 ladies competed in this competition and well done to the following:-

Mhairi Stevenson with a fine 70 (86-16), Liz Skinner with 71 (92-21), Ebeth Fyffe with a 72 (91-19).

Suzanne Cadden matched Mhairi's gross score of 86.

July Medal (8th July 2008), sss 75, css 75:- 25 ladies took part in this competition which was played in fine weather. Our congratulations go to the following:-

Silver Division:- Margaret Stirling with an outstanding 68 (78-10), Dorothy Davidson 76 (95-19), Isobel Campbell 77 (94-17).

Bronze Division:- Margie Gillespie with a fine 72 (98-26), Dinah Buchanan 77 (99-22), Fiona Collins 77 (106-29).

Margaret had the lowest gross score with her fine 78.

Enable & 2nd MJR Qualifier (15th & 17th June 2008), SSS 75, CSS 75 & 74:- 28 ladies took part in this competition which was played in contrasting weather conditions. 3 players tied on a nett score of 73:-

Janet McGowan (96-23) bih, Caroleen Clark (88-15) & Irene Muirhead (85-12).

Suzanne Cadden had the lowest Gross.

June Medal (10th June 2008):- SSS 75, CSS 74:- 29 players competed in this competition which was played in decent weather conditions. Scoring was excellent and well done to the following players:-

Silver Division:- Irene Muirhead with a 74 (86-12) bih, Iris Keywood 74 (86-12) & Dorothy Davidson 75 (94-19).

Bronze Division:- Diana MacIntosh with an excellent 70 (96-26), Edith MacPherson 71 (94-23) & Janet McGowan with 74 (97-23).

Ordinary Ladies Stableford (7th June 2008, SSS 75, CSS 76:- 6 ladies played in this competition and our congratulations go to the following:-

1st:- Sarah tryon with 35pts, 2nd:- Louise Ballantyne with 31pts & 3rd:- Lynne cameron with 30pts.

SLGA Brooch & 2nd Championship Qualifier (25th + 27th May 2008), SSS 75, CSS 78:- 37 players took part in this competition. The scoring was unusually high and this was due to the very windy conditions on Tuesday. Our congratulations go to the following:-

Silver Division:- Sarah Tryon with a 72 (82-10), Suzanne Cadden with 73 (77-4) & Rae Strang with 75 (95-20).

Bronze Division:- Aileen Campbell with a 71 (102-31), Dorothy Reid 75 (105-29) & Janet McGowan with 78 (101-23).

Suzanne also had the lowest Gross with her outstanding score of 73.

Special Congratulations to Aileen Campbell who has now won the last 3 competitions that she has entered and I am sure that the Match & Handicap Secretary is looking at her closely. Well Done!!

RG Wilson & 1st Junior Qualifier (18th + 20th May 2008), SSS 75, CSS 74:- 35 players took part in this competition which was played once again in fine weather conditions. Our congratulations go to the following:-

1st:- Aileen Campbell with a fine 74 (105-31) after count back, 2nd:- Ebeth Fyffe with 74 (95-21), 3rd:- Edith Macpherson also with 74 (97-23).

Lady Captain's Day (Saturday 17th May 2008), sss 75, CSS 77:- 26 ladies took part in this stableford competition and the fine weather provided some excellent scoring. Well done to the following players:-

Silver Division :- L. Ballantyne with 35pts, I. Keywood with 33pts & I. Muirhead also with 33pts.

Bronze Division :- A. Campbell with 41pts, R. Strang with 37pts & L. Bourhill with 36pts.

Spring Meeting & 1st Championship Qualifier (14th + 16th May 2008), CSS 78 (R/O) 14th & CSS 76 16th:- 40 players took part in these competitions with different weather conditions on each day. Our congratulations go to the following ladies:-

Silver Division :- P. Craig with 78 (92-14), I. Keywood also with 78 (90-12) & S. Gardiner with 80 (99-19).

Bronze Division :- D.Reid with a fine 72 (103-31), E. Fyffe with 74 (95-21) & S. Strachan also with 74 (95-21).

Suzanne Cadden had the lowest gross score.

May Medal and Medal Finals:-(Tuesday 6th May 2008), SSS 75, CSS 76:- 35 ladies took part in this competition which was played in warm and sunny conditions. An enjoyable time was had by all and our congratulations go to the following:-

Silver Division :- S.Gardiner with a fine score of 75 (94-19), D.Davidson with 76 (95-19) and I.Campbell 78 (95-17).

Bronze Division :- E.Fyffe with an excellent nett score of 70 (97-27), R.Lees with 73 (98-25) and D.Buchanan 78 (100-22).

Sheila Gardiner also had the lowest gross core with her 94.
