Egg Cup 7th Round (Monday 13th October 2008):- PAR 71, CSS 73- 27 players took part in this competition. Congratulations to the following:-

David Thomas with an outstanding 69 (97-28), W (Bill) Hughes 71 (88-17), Alexander S MacDonald 73 (87-14), Henry D Wright 73 (101-28).

Raymond Marshall had the best gross score with his 85.

Seniors v Ladies (Thursday 25th September 2008):- The Annual challenge between the Seniors & Ladies Section proved to be a very tight affair. After some very exciting matches the game finished in a tie, 51/2 - 5 1/2. As is tradition this means that as the Ladies were the victors last year they retain the trophy for a further year.

Egg Cup 6th Round (Monday 8th September 2008):- PAR 71, CSS 70 - 29 players took part in this competition. Congratulations to the following:-

Andrew D Bain with a fine 70 (89-19), Raymond Marshall 71 (81-10), Jim Hanning 72 (87-15), Noel taylor 72 (92-20).

Raymond also had the best gross score.

McIntyre League:- The "boys" travelled to Hayston Golf Club to contest their final match in this year's competition. Another excellent performance saw them winning yet again by 3 matches to 1.

Despite his disappointment of not being handed a wild card for the Ryder Cup by Nick Faldo our talisman Jim " Jimbo" Hanning made it an unbelievable 4 wins a row. Rumour has it that he is now seriously considering turning Pro!!!!

McIntyre League v Hayston

McIntyre League:- Cardross entertained Lenzie Golf Club on Thursday 28th Augut 2008. A close encounter followed with our "boys" winning the first 2 ties by comfortable margins. Lenzie won the third to reduce the deficit and a 1 hole victory in the last tie saw the match finish all square 2-2.

Jimbo Hanning is in the form of his life and made it an unheard of 3 victories in a row. Rumour has it he has made a call to Nick Faldo offering his services for the forthcoming Ryder Cup.

McIntyre League:- The team made it 2 wins in a row when they travelled to Bearsden Golf Club on Wednesday 13th August 2008. Some good performances saw them emerge victorious by 21/2 to 11/2.

Believe it or not Jim Hanning won yet again. Go on yourself Jimbo!!!!

Egg Cup 5th Round (Monday 11th August 2008):- PAR 71, CSS 73 - 24 players took part in this competition. Congratulations to the following players:-

Dr Angus Ashley with a fine nett 71 (93-22), Iain MacLeod 72 (83-11), Bill J R Hughes 73 (90-17), David Gall 73 (84-11).

Iain also had the best gross score.

McIntyre League:- The team entertained Kirkintilloch Golf Club on Thursday 7th August 2008. Some good performances saw them record a fine 21/2 to 11/2 victory.

A special mention to Jim Hanning who recorded a rare win.

Individual results:- W. Mclaughlin & I. MacLeod won 5&3, D. May & J. Hanning won 6&5, D. Gall & I MacEachern lost 3&2, J. Major & J. McLean halve match.

McIntyre League:- On a very rainy Thursday 31st July 2008 the team travelled to Hilton Park Golf Club to contest their latest league match. Unfortunately they were soundly beaten by 31/2 to 1/2.

Senior Open 2008:- Par 71,Members sss 72, Visitors sss 73:- Cardross members proved beyond doubt that local knowledge accompanied by a lot of skill works wonders, as Cardross "young guns" took 6 places out of the first 7.

1st Overall:- R (Bobby) Craig with an outstanding 65 (71-6), 2nd:- Adam A Clark with 66 (72-6), 3rd:- John Leonard 66 (80-14), 4th:- Alexander S MacDonald with 68 (83-15).

McIintyre League:- On Thursday 17th July 2008 the Gents travelled the long distance to Helensburgh Golf Club to play the current league leaders. A fine performance saw them leaving with a well earned 2-2 draw.

McIntyre League:- The team played host to Clydebank & District Golf club in their latest match on Thursday 10th July 2008. A fine performance saw the team winning by 3-1.

Results:- J. Major / A. Millar beat J. MacLeod / J. Spence 3&1, W. MacLaughlin / I. Macleod beat J. Fitsimmons / B. Rogerson 3&2, D. Gall / J. Hanning lost to T. McGregor / I. Elrick by 1 hole, R. Marshall / I. Fleming beat D. Smith / G. McGrindle 3&1.

McIntyre League:- The team travelled to Clober Golf Club in their latest match on Thursday 3rd July 2008. The match was abandoned mid-round due to the horrendous weather. It was decided that the scores at that time would stand. This resulted in a 31/2 to 1/2 victory for the home team.

McIntyre League:- The Seniors Team got back to winning ways with a fine 3-1 vitory at home to Dullatur Golf Club on Thursday 19th June 2008.McIntyre League:- The Seniors Team travelled to the current league leaders Balmore Golf Club on Thursday 12th June 2008 and a fine performace saw them earn a well deserved 2-2 draw.

3rd Round Egg Cup (9th June 2008), PAR 71, CSS 70:- 28 gentlemen took part in this competition which was played in fair weather conditions. Scoring was very close with Arthur A Millar with a 71 (82-11) emerging victorious by virtue of a countback over W (bill) JR Hughes 71 (89-18).

McIntyre League:- The Seniors Team were away to Windyhill Golf Club in their latest match on Thursday 22nd may 2008. Another disappointing result saw them lose by the score of 3 - 1.

Jim Hanning & Donnie May were the sole victors by 3&1.

James Adie Foursomes:- The first "Major" of the new season was played in glorious sunshine on Monday 5th may 2008. The winners were our Club Captain Iain MacLeod and Neil MacFadyen with a fine score of 76. In second place were Raymond marshall and ken MacFarland with a creditable 79.

Egg Cup 2008:- The 1st round of this year's competition was played on Monday 14th April 2008 with 22 competitors taking part. Our congratulations go to the following players;- David Lui with a fine 71 (91-20),Bill JR Hughes with a 73 (91-18) and David Gall with 74 (84-10). David also had the lowest gross score.
